  • Directed a smoking cessation navigator program, “Initiative for a Smoke Free Community” to facilitate access to smoking cessation treatment and resources.

  • Expanded key relationships with Chinatown and Lower East Side community-based organizations through educational workshops for collective impact including a city-wide Asian Smokers’ Quitline webinar that recognized our community partner as the highest referrer of smokers in NYS since 2014.

  • Developed and implemented evidence-based strategies via tobacco dependence treatment policies with key stakeholders & quality improvement projects to increase clinicians’ assistance to patients.

  • Conducted on-site visits across Queens to coach and train clinical staff to integrate best practices for tobacco treatment in the hospital or community clinic’s workflow.

  • Designed vetted patient education materials on secondhand smoke & nicotine replacement therapy.

  • Mobilized with coalition organizations including Queens Cancer Services Program, Asthma Coalition of Queens and NYC Smoke Free working towards combating tobacco control issues.

  • Networks and reaches out to member and non-member organizations within its geographic territory and organize joint or collaborative activities, to offer informational materials, to participate in exhibits, fairs, cultural programs or speaking engagements on behalf of the Federation within the state or region; 

  • Develops contacts with local civic, religious, or other leaders who may be able to influence Filipino issues, develop a speakers bureau; to create a forum for lectures and seminars in leadership development and mentoring;

  • Identifies fundraising opportunities, including grants that encapsulate the organization’s mission to foster self-reliant women, young people, and families in Palawan to lead healthy lives by providing education and services to change attitudes and behaviors.

  • Secured first grant with 1year renewal since revitalization of NYC chapter from Citizens Committee of NYC.
